What is a Walking Bus?
Each walking bus has an adult at the front as a driver and an
adult at the rear as the conductor. The children walk in a group
along a set route picking up additional passengers along the way at
designated bus stops. The bus runs rain or shine and everyone wears
fluorescent and reflective safety jackets.
As well as those participating gaining valuable road safety
skills, children have the opportunity to build friendships and gain
some independence in a supervised environment.
If you are interested in starting a Walking Bus in your
community, more information and guidelines can be received by
