Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council Road Safety

Parents

Welcome Parents/ Guardians to our new Road Safety Website.

Neath Port Talbot's Road Safety Unit is committed to fullfilling its responsibility of providing an ongoing Education, Training and Publicity programme for all.

As a parent you can also play a major role in your child's Road Safety Education on a day to day basis, no matter what their age.

Set by example:

  • Hold the hands of young children
  • Look for a place where you can see the traffic and the traffic can see you when crossing the road and stay away from parked cars wherever possible. Use Safer Crossing Places such as Zebra Crossings and Pelican Crossings whereever you can.
  • Always wear a seat belt in the car and ensure your children do the same and that they are in the correct child restraint.
  • Encourage your children to wear a helmet when on a bike, skateboard or scooter and do the same yourself!

Children of all ages make full use of the internet. Here are some links which you may find of use for you and your child.

The Road Safety Team are here to answer any queries you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
