Ridersafe is a new Road Safety initiative for young people in
the 16 – 24 year age range in line with the Welsh Government Road
Safety Framework. It is a course of theoretical and practical

We're having a busy month of October our walk to School campaign
is in full swing with over 1,500 pupils taking part. Well done to
all of you! Don't forget to listen to Bay Radio for live links back
to the studio as they accompany Henson and the team on their walks.
The Walking Forward Theatre Company are visiting our secondary
schools delivering their 'Deadly Mates' production. Aimed at young
drivers and their passengers the moving presentation seeks to
educate young students that they, as passengers, should consider
whom they get into a vehicle with, and if they feel unsafe to
remember that there are other options, such as staying with a
friend or taking a taxi - Do you have a 'Deadly Mate'??
Following on from the theme of Deadly Mates our Pass Plus Cymru
session for newly qualified drivers was well attended on the 10th
with our Bikesafe course on the 15th and 16th running at capacity.
We had a great time at the Neath Food Festival also on the 15th,
many thanks to all of you who stopped off for a chat, hopefully you
gained some road safety knowledge at the same time. Our Driver
Training Officer is busy preparing to launch our First Bike on
Scene (FBOS) training for all our keen motorcyclists who've
previously taken part in our Bike safe training, more about that
next month. Until then, keep yourself safe, and remember 'together
we can make a difference'.
